Arnab Majumdar

Adviser - Air Traffic Management R&D

Arnab Majumdar is a Professor at the Imperial College London, he was also the Lloyds Register Foundation and he was an Associate professor in Transportation Risk Management and the Director of the Transport Risk Management Center for Transportation Studies at Imperial College London.

His Research was focused on human and social factors associated with the safety and risk in transportation which is especially for the aviation and railways and he has successfully supervised 15 PhD students.He is a leader of eight-person team of Doctorate students and research associates at the LRF funded that was covering a broad spectrum of research assessed by human and social factors in safety of critical systems which includes the human behavior during the evacuation from emergencies.He has over 20 years research experience in air transport.He was specialized in the investigation of problems in Air Traffic Management and Air Traffic Control of a particular interest is the workload and complexity issues faced by Air Traffic Controller.
 
He has published more than 70 peer-reviewed Journal and Conference papers and three book chapters.He is a Member of three international aviation research committees and he has received numerous awards that includes a Best Paper award in Airspace Management at the 6th USA and Europe ATM 2005 R&D Seminar. He also holds an MSc degrees in Transportation at Imperial College London and Cognitive Neuropsychology at University College London and is also a Chartered Engineer.
 
He obtained his PhD in 2003 at Imperial College London in the Estimation of Airspace Capacity in Europe.He also holds an MSc degrees in Transportation from Imperial College London and Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University College London and he is also a Chartered Engineer.He has over 20 years research experience in air transport.he has also published more of 70 peer-reviewed Journal and Conference papers and three book chapters.
